Weld Quality Analysis of High-Hardness Armored Steel in Pulsed Gas Metal Arc Welding

چکیده

As improving fuel economy and performance through weight reduction in vehicles are recognized as important tasks, the defense industry is researching ways to reduce of armor plates for combat increase bulletproof durability. Most manufactured using weld joints. High-hardness (HHA) used make plates; however, its mechanical properties deteriorate because hydrogen embrittlement high-temperature softening during welding. Welding defects, such pores cracks, occur frequently. In this study, HHA steel was subjected single-pulse gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielding heat input analyzed by United States army tank-automotive armaments command (TACOM) standard. The specimen cross-section visually examined, hardness, tensile, impact tests were identify based on conditions. Additionally, flux cored (FCAW) GMAW compared, spatter image analyses assess integrity process plate applied a vehicle. result experiment, CO2 content increased, strength welded zone deteriorated.
